Zino Aviation is seeking a highly experienced, respected, and commercially minded retired Boeing 737NG Captain to serve as our Head of Training, Standards & Aviation Services.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping and overseeing the company’s training philosophy, instructional standards, aviation services, and professional development initiatives. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the highest levels of training quality, operational excellence, and professional standards across the organisation while helping drive the continued growth and evolution of Zino Aviation.

A key component of this role will be leading and delivering training, assessment, mentoring, and professional development programmes through the company’s Boeing 737NG Flight Simulator. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping maximise the value of this platform by developing and delivering innovative training solutions, assessment programmes, simulator-based experiences, and aviation development initiatives for aspiring pilots, airlines, corporate operators, aviation professionals, and other stakeholders.

We are seeking an individual who combines extensive airline experience with strong leadership, instructional capability, industry credibility, and a genuine passion for developing future aviation professionals. This role is specifically designed for a retired Boeing 737NG Captain who wishes to remain actively involved in aviation through training, mentorship, consultancy, industry engagement, and strategic leadership.

The successful candidate will serve as the principal aviation subject matter expert within the organisation and will work closely with senior leadership to strengthen the company’s training capabilities, expand its aviation services offering, build strategic industry relationships, and identify new opportunities for growth.

Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate should be a well-respected and well-connected member of the aviation community, possessing strong professional relationships across airlines, regulatory bodies, training organisations, corporate flight departments, and the wider aviation industry. The ideal candidate will be professional, approachable, commercially aware, and capable of building meaningful relationships at every level, from aspiring pilots and flight instructors to airline executives, regulators, government stakeholders, and industry leaders. They should be comfortable representing the company in meetings, conferences, media engagements, public speaking events, educational institutions, and industry forums.

Beyond training, this individual will act as an ambassador for the company, representing Zino Aviation across the wider aviation community and helping position the organisation as a trusted partner for pilot development, airline assessment services, aviation consultancy, professional standards, and aviation excellence.

Role Scope

The Head of Training, Standards & Aviation Services will oversee all aviation training, simulator operations, pilot assessment activities, instructional standards, mentorship initiatives, aviation consultancy projects, industry engagement activities, aviation business development efforts, and quality assurance functions.

The role combines technical leadership, training delivery, standards management, business development, quality assurance, industry representation, mentorship, and strategic advisory responsibilities.

This position requires an individual capable of balancing operational excellence with commercial awareness while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and instructional quality.

Key Responsibilites

Training Delivery & Simulator Instruction

  • Deliver Boeing 737NG simulator-based training programmes.

  • Conduct Jet Orientation Courses (JOC).

  • Conduct Pre-MCC preparation programmes.

  • Conduct Pre-Type Rating preparation programmes.

  • Conduct Pre-Line Training preparation programmes.

  • Conduct airline preparation and airline readiness programmes.

  • Deliver simulator familiarisation training.

  • Conduct recurrent and refresher training programmes where applicable.

  • Deliver customised simulator training programmes for individuals and organisations.

  • Develop new training products and programmes.

  • Ensure all training delivery meets the highest professional standards.
     

Ground School Instruction

  • Deliver aviation ground school training programmes.

  • Teach theoretical aviation subjects to aspiring pilots.

  • Conduct classroom-based instruction and practical aviation training.

  • Develop and maintain training presentations, lesson plans, and educational materials.

  • Support pilot knowledge development across various training programmes.

  • Assist in the continuous improvement of training curricula.

  • Contribute to the development of new aviation courses and programmes.
     

Pilot Assessments & Airline Recruitment Support

  • Conduct simulator assessments on behalf of airlines and aviation operators.

  • Evaluate pilot competency, technical ability, CRM skills, decision-making, and professionalism.

  • Conduct airline recruitment assessments and screening exercises.

  • Produce detailed assessment reports and recommendations.

  • Participate in pilot selection programmes.

  • Assist airlines and operators in identifying suitable pilot candidates.

  • Support psychometric and simulator-based recruitment programmes.
     

Training Standards, Compliance & Governance

  • Serve as the company’s lead authority on training standards and instructional quality.

  • Establish and maintain instructor standardisation programmes.

  • Develop and oversee training governance frameworks.

  • Ensure consistency across all training products, assessments, and instructional activities.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of training materials, manuals, SOPs, and instructor performance.

  • Promote a culture of professionalism, discipline, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor industry best practices and incorporate relevant improvements into company programmes.

  • Support regulatory compliance and quality assurance initiatives where applicable.
     

Training Standards & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain the highest instructional standards across all training activities.

  • Develop, review, and maintain training manuals, SOPs, guidance materials, and training documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.

  • Monitor training quality, effectiveness, and consistency.

  • Develop internal quality assurance systems.

  • Review and improve training programmes on an ongoing basis.

  • Ensure consistency in training delivery and assessment methodology.
     

Instructor Leadership & Development

  • Oversee simulator instructors and training personnel.

  • Conduct instructor onboarding, standardisation, and development.

  • Mentor and support instructional staff.

  • Provide guidance on instructional techniques and best practices.

  • Evaluate instructor performance and training effectiveness.

  • Build and maintain a culture of professionalism and instructional excellence.
     

Mentorship & Career Development

  • Play a leading role within the Zino Aviation Pilot Mentorship Programme.

  • Mentor aspiring pilots and aviation professionals.

  • Provide career guidance and professional development support.

  • Support pilot progression from training through employment.

  • Deliver mentorship workshops and career development sessions.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to mentorship participants.
     

Aviation Consultancy & Advisory Services

  • Support aviation consultancy projects.

  • Provide technical aviation expertise to clients.

  • Participate in aviation strategy and development engagements.

  • Assist with manpower development initiatives.

  • Support airline, government, and corporate aviation projects.

  • Provide aviation subject matter expertise across the organisation.
     

Business Development & Industry Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with airlines, private operators, aviation organisations, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

  • Promote Zino Aviation’s training, assessment, consultancy, and simulator services.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Support partnership development initiatives.

  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations for prospective clients.

  • Promote utilisation of the Boeing 737NG Flight Simulator.

  • Help secure airline assessment contracts, training contracts, and consultancy engagements.

  • Contribute directly to business growth and revenue generation.
     

Media, Public Speaking & Brand Representation

  • Represent Zino Aviation publicly when required.

  • Participate in media interviews, podcasts, webinars, and speaking engagements.

  • Support content creation initiatives.

  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities.

  • Deliver presentations at aviation conferences and industry events.

  • Act as a professional ambassador for the company.
     

STEM Outreach & Aviation Awareness

  • Participate in STEM programmes and educational outreach initiatives.

  • Visit schools, universities, and youth organisations to promote aviation careers.

  • Deliver aviation awareness presentations and workshops.

  • Support youth development and aviation inspiration programmes.

  • Help strengthen the company’s social impact activities.
     

Simulator Experiences & Public Programmes

  • Conduct simulator experience flights and aviation discovery programmes.

  • Deliver aviation experience sessions for members of the public.

  • Support corporate events and team-building programmes.

  • Ensure participants receive a safe, educational, and memorable experience.

  • Develop innovative public engagement programmes centred around aviation.
     

Strategic Development

  • Identify opportunities for new training products, services, and programmes.

  • Support the long-term growth strategy of the company.

  • Provide recommendations to leadership on training, operations, standards, and industry opportunities.

  • Support expansion initiatives and new business ventures.

  • Help position Zino Aviation as a leading aviation training, assessment, and consultancy organisation.

Preferred Skills

Mandatory Requirements

  • Retired Boeing 737NG Captain.

  • Valid or previously held ICAO ATPL.

  • Boeing 737NG Type Rating.

  • Extensive Boeing 737 operational experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of airline operational experience.

  • Previous experience in pilot training, instruction, assessment, or standards.

  • Strong understanding of airline training systems, SOPs, CRM, and competency-based training methodologies.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
