Pilot Mentorship

The Mentorship Program

Anchor 1

The biggest mistake you can make on your journey to becoming a pilot is not having an experienced, highly knowledgable and easily accessible mentor. It's a journey you've never been on before, and although you might think you know the way, you can never know it more than an experienced guide.

Anybody can act as a mentor, but very few people can bring out the very best in you.

It is essential you are mentored by somebody who isn't just highly knowledgable but also highly passionate, compassionate and experienced. Captain Zno is all of these things. He is also easily approachable, easily accessible and easy to relate with.

Extremely knowledgable and highly experienced, he has thousands of flight hours and has conducted flight training on several different continents. As a pilot, trainer, consultant and mentor, he is vastly experienced and fully adept in global flight training practices. Having attended a total of 7 different flight schools for planes and helicopters, Capt. Zino has acquired a wealth of knowledge that all aspiring pilots need to benefit from. Through his good, bad, and challenging experiences, he knows all the 'dos and donts' of flight school and flying commercially.

Capt. Zino knows all the pitfalls and hidden traps which constantly catch out inexperienced student pilots on their journey. You don't have to make mistakes or be alone on your journey to becoming a pilot. Capt. Zino is willing to be right beside you, guiding you every step of the way, as you make your journey from the floor, to the flight deck.

Why do I need a mentor?

Knowledge is power. There are so many things you need to know that you currently don't know. A mentor will teach you, advise you, give you tips, and coach you on the best methods to use to succeed at flight school and when flying commercially. You'll become a much better pilot with a mentor than without one. Two crew are always better than one.

Effective mentorship will work on developing your ability as a pilot, meaning you'll struggle significantly less and therefore pass closer to the minimum flight requirements. This will save you a lot of money. Every extra hour you spend over the minimums will cost you dearly, increasing your flight training costs by thousands of dollars.

There are thousands of unemployed pilots worldwide, unemployed because they don't know the strategies needed to secure employment in this industry. A mentor knows all of these things and will help you by providing current information, contacts, CV/Cover Letter help and prepare you for your airline interview through mock interviews & assessments.

Flight training takes long because people struggle and keep repeating. A mentor will help you get ahead and understand everything prior to arrival. You'll hit the ground running, struggle less, and progress faster than normal. If you're struggling, you'll have a mentor to help you improve, get you through your tough times and difficult moments.

You are bound to have a lot of questions every step of the way. An experienced and highly knowledgable mentor, on-demand, to answer every question you will ever have, will be a major and invaluable asset to you on your journey. At all times they will give you clarity, enabling you to do the right things and make the right decisions.

Before, throughout, and after flight school, you're going to have to make a tonne of important decisions that will determine the course of your journey, career, and life. A mentor will help aid your decision-making process so you make the right decisions that won't ruin your life. They will also strategise with you and show you the best paths to take.

"One of the best career decisions I made was to sign up for the Zino Aviation mentorship program and here is why. Firstly, I had the opportunity and privilege to work with and be mentored by someone I consider as one of the brightest minds in the industry. Captain Zino knows his stuff and is really passionate about transferring the knowledge he has to his mentees. I really thought I knew my way around the industry, but when I met Captain Zino I realized I had been on cruise control...in the wrong direction.

The mentorship program opened my eyes to the opportunities available to be explored as a pilot with a CPL license. The program gave me the opportunity to meet recruiters at airlines and private jet companies.

When I met Captain Zino, I did not have a job but through the program and the network the program brings, I am now gainfully employed with one of Nigeria's leading airlines! Not only am I employed, but I am also doing very well as Captain Zino takes his time to make sure that all his mentees are above standard and delivering excellence every day.

Captain Zino was always available to me, making sure that no stone was left unturned and ensuring that I stayed ahead of the game at all times. I am really grateful that I was part of the mentorship program and I strongly recommend this program to anyone looking to set out for a career in aviation. The program is truly worth it!!!

I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to Captain Zino and his team at Zino Aviation. You are simply the best!"

As someone who struggled for many years to secure a job in the aviation industry after finishing flight school, I cannot overstate the transformative impact of the mentorship program provided by Captain Zino. My journey to becoming a pilot was filled with challenges and a serious lack of direction. However, upon enrolling in the mentorship program, I quickly realized that I had finally found the guidance and support I desperately needed.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the program was the unparalleled network and connections that Captain Zino provided. Within weeks of signing up, I was offered a job at Bristow Helicopters, the largest helicopter company in the world. This was honestly a feat that seemed impossible prior to joining the program. This invaluable opportunity was made possible through Captain Zino’s extensive network, connections and industry insights. Captain Zino and his team went above and beyond to assist me in refining my CV and crafting compelling cover letters that truly showcased my skills and aspirations. Additionally, Captain Zino provided invaluable support in preparing me for interviews and IFR assessments. This equipped me with the tools and knowledge needed to excel and pass the multiple-stage interview and assessment process. His expertise in this regard undoubtedly played a crucial role in my success.

The mentorship program also offered comprehensive simulator training in VFR and IFR from Captain Shola, Zino Aviation’s Chief Fight Instructor. We had amazing sessions in their flight simulator which greatly enhanced my proficiency and confidence in flying again and prepared me for the IFR Assessment as well as my Type Rating.

Captain Zino once again played an instrumental role in preparing me for my type rating and provided a lot of support throughout the training process. When I was struggling, I would call him and he would help me out. His insight, guidance and encouragement were invaluable and ensured I remained focused and motivated.

On a personal level, Captain Zino is a great guy and exemplifies the qualities of a great mentor. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the success of his mentees. His genuine commitment to helping me achieve my goals was evident in every interaction, and I am immensely grateful for his mentorship.

I wholeheartedly recommend the mentorship program to anyone aspiring to pursue a career in aviation. The support, resources, and personalised guidance provided is unparalleled, making it a truly transformative experience for anyone seeking to navigate the many complexities of the aviation industry.

Thank you so much for everything!

"Zino aviation has been the best thing to happen to me in my aviation career. Through the help of the mentorship program, I have learned a lot about being a pilot and have become a better person altogether. I have learned leadership qualities and problem-solving, and I have improved my decision-making. Captain Zino has helped me in so many ways. He doesn’t only act as a mentor but also as a teacher and he has taught me things that were difficult for me to understand during my flight training. The best part of the training for me is definitely the mentorship and just being able to get advice from a captain-level pilot. Knowing you have him at your disposal, at any time, is the best thing anyone can have while starting their aviation career. Zino aviation also provides students with the best available schools for flight training to provide a better learning experience.

I would definitely advise anyone who is thinking of starting aviation to join Zino aviation!"

"I want to say a huge thank you to Zino Aviation, My first encounter with Captain. Zino Mario was back in 2019. I was out of flying school and had been unemployed for years. I submitted so many CVs that I had lost count. Captain. Zino was very helpful, he understood my needs after years of wondering if I'm ever going to be employed as a pilot in Nigeria. He helped review my cv and got me face-to-face interviews with airlines and career coaching.

I feel extremely lucky to have been mentored by Captain Zino Mario. He is a wonderful, warm and encouraging mentor.

I couldn't be happier with the quality of mentorship I received.

I will recommend the Zino Aviation mentorship program to anyone looking for a professional aviation consultant in Nigeria and beyond."

"I reached out to Zino when I began searching for a job in the UK. He began by reviewing my outdated CV and then giving it a professional and elegant look.

Next, he pointed me toward prospective employers and assisted with constructing job application letters. Within weeks I received invitations for interviews! Zino yet again supplied me with materials I used in preparation. I gained the required knowledge and confidence I needed to scale through the airline assessments and I got the job!

Indeed, he followed through till the very end. His services are second to none."
